Our growing business is seeking an experienced Compost Operations Manager to lead our compost department.

The Compost Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of site safety, environmental compliance, compost quality, and production costs. This leadership role involves on-site management, ensuring continuous operations, and high-quality output. The manager will lead, coach, and monitor staff to ensure duties are performed efficiently and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, reporting to the Director of Compost Operations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and oversee compost operations, ensuring compliance with regulations (EMA, OMRR).
- Optimize compost processes for high-quality output and cost efficiency.
- Manage budgets, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and operational excellence.
- Maintain production reports and collaborate on compost strategies.
- Oversee the handling of raw materials like straw, chicken litter, and gypsum.
- Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of all equipment (conveyor belts, cranes, etc.).

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in composting or food processing.
- Strong technical background in food processing and/or agriculture.
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Acts (EMA) and Organic Matter Recycling Regulation (OMRR).
- Experience operating heavy machinery (Bobcat, forklifts).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and waste management processes.
- Post-secondary education in a technical field or equivalent experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
