Part-time Office Administrator

Thurber has an exciting opportunity for an **Office Administrator** to join our team in **Victoria, British Columbia**.
Thurber is a specialized consulting firm with a focus on geotechnical engineering. Our project work includes transportation, large and small infrastructure, natural hazards, development and more. We undertake challenging assignments that can include steep terrain, deep foundations, compressible soils, landslides, contamination, or other complications.
As our Office Administrator, you will work on varied projects and develop your skills with guidance and mentorship from our senior team.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure the office is well managed on all fronts, including office organization, document management, stocking of supplies, greeting guests, organizing couriers, etc.
- Coordinating general office maintenance including liaising with various suppliers and service companies.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate staff meetings, training programs and other branch-level events and activities
- Assist with invoicing processes and month end data entry
- Prepare and update various tracking sheets.
- Onboarding and offboarding staff.
- Other administrative duties, as required.
**Qualifications and Assets**
- 3+ years of administrative experience in an office environment
- Graduate of an Administrative Assistant program an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and customer service
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding organization and problem solving skills
- Self-starter and team player with a positive attitude
This is an intermediate career position and will be comprised of office-based activities, with opportunities for continued career growth within the company. Although this is a part-time position, there is opportunity for it to become full-time.
