**Introduction**

WJ Groundwater is the leading construction dewatering and groundwater specialist in the UK with operations in Canada, the Middle East & Poland. Yard operations are an essential part of our business and are pivotal in enabling WJ Canada’s ability to execute projects on time and on budget.

The two principal objectives of this position are to act as a General Labourer and when required, a Delivery Driver.
- As a General Labourer you will prepare fittings & assemblies, conduct general yard cleanup, etc. High quality workmanship is critical to ensure long term reliability of our systems.
- The Delivery Driver will make pick-ups and deliveries as scheduled to cover employee absences. Our drivers represent WJ Groundwater in a safe, professional, courteous, and punctual manner to our customers, suppliers, colleagues, and the general public while on the road. You will ensure that equipment and materials coming and going from the yard will be tracked according to inventory management processes.

In both these functions, the incumbent will develop and demonstrate a familiarity with our dewatering systems and yard process workflow.

**Reports to** Yard Supervisor

**Works with** Project Engineers, Rig Mechanics, Pump Technicians, Yard Crew, General Laborer, Delivery Drivers, Purchasing, etc.,

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- General labour tasks such as assembling, disassembling, cleaning, sorting, restocking fittings and various equipment;
- Assist in processing material requests, tracking movement of equipment, and preparing information for review by Yard Supervisor;
- Develop an understanding of systems & fittings in order to ensure that items collected and delivered are correct and consistent with documentation such as packing slips;
- Assist in organizing, maintaining, and recording inventory of fittings, assemblies and other equipment and spare parts at the yard;
- Assist in the collection of packing slips, maintenance records, and inspection sheets to submit to the Accounting Technician and Yard Supervisor, and complete paperwork;
- Load, unload, move material manually or by using material handling equipment;
- Handle, count, pack, and unpack as part of the material handling work;
- Act as driver for company vehicles, including large commercial vehicles (up to 5 tonnes), ensuring that deliveries and pick ups are completed in an accurate and timely manner;
- Maintain a safe working environment while driving and conducting general labour tasks at the yard.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean;
- Other responsibilities as dictated by changing business needs.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Construction: 1 year preferred.
- Heavy Vehicle Operation (up to 5 tonnes): 1 year preferred.
- Strong motivation, exceptional work ethic, professional demeanor, organizational skills and a commitment to achieving objectives.
- Experience with dewatering, drilling or construction equipment is considered an asset.
- Experience with fluid handling, pumping or piping equipment systems or processes, or mechanical/HVAC is beneficial.
- Experience in warehousing, transportation, or other related industry is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office software is required, experience with Smartsheets preferred.
