**Learning and Development Specialist**
***
The Learning and Development Specialist provides training and development support for NFI Learning Institute with design, development of training programs/courses and business development needs. This position will be focused on development and training for our Leadership teams.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Consults with and supports business units/departments and Human Resources to identify, plan and implement resource selection, training and development requirements as driven by the strategic performance needs of the organization.
- Researches, designs, implements, and maintains standardized, comprehensive training and development programs and documentation based on identified organizational and affiliate needs, changes in culture, products, procedures, and services.
- Presents training to all levels within the organization or externally as required.
- Negotiates training programs, sources materials and delivery methods.
- Performs or supports the efforts of others to design, develop and instruct curricula (classroom or on-the-job) utilizing instructional design techniques, including use of learning objectives, lesson plans, teaching aids and assessment materials.
- Analyzes performance measures to identify training opportunities and to assess the impact of training.
- Analyzes measures of performance (MOPs) relevant to the area of specialization, root cause and determine if relevant training interventions are necessary.
- Assists in the development and implementation of applicable training effectiveness methods such as evaluation, validation, and cost benefit analysis to set and meet training performance goals.
- Maintains a training inventory, schedules courses, develops course outlines, manuals, training aids and documentation in conjunction with curriculum designers.
- Identifies, develops, and monitors resources required to assist in the classroom and/or on-the-job training process.
- Administers and maintains various contracts and programs from outside training service providers.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:
- University or college degree in Management/Organizational Behavior, Adult Learning, Organizational Development or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a training role with a focus on multi facility/organizational and operational development.
- Previous experience providing training delivery in a unionized environment would be an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with the instructional design process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Preference for working in teams in a functional matrix structure.
- Excellent Presentation and classroom teaching skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards and administrative policies and procedures.
- Up to 5% of travel is required for this position._
