Within this role, you will be an integral member of Southmedic's Human Resources Department as we strive to provide a positive employee experience for all team members. This role will be focused on leading some of the Health & Safety activities within the organization, including but not limited to:

- JHSC Administration - administering and co-chairing monthly meetings, ensuring compliance with membership requirements, managing the monthly inspection process
- Disability Management - supporting individuals with occupational injuries during their recovery and return to work plan
- WSIB Administration - developing strong relationships with WSIB case managers, adjudicators and supporting the document submission process
- Health & Safety Training - ensuring staffing compliance with training requirements, including First Aid, forklift training, crane training, etc..

In addition to Health & Safety responsibilities, this opportunity will also support multiple activities within the HR field, including but not limited to:

- Provide daily and ongoing support to employee questions, concerns and requests.
- Assists with the development and delivery of goals, objectives, projects and initiatives in the Human Resources strategic plan.
- Development, administration, and enforcement of organizational policies. This includes participation in the progressive discipline process, leading workplace investigation initiatives and performance appraisals.
- Provide HR support to employees and leaders within Southmedic organization
- Management of employee accommodation plans, leaves of absences and return to work
- Administration and maintenance of information within organizational HRIS.
- Support company and community engagement projects including job fairs, social events and corporate culture initiatives

The successful applicant possesses 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting, and should be striving to pursue continuing professional development through the HRPA designation program or other related educational opportunities.

Due to the nature of the role within our manufacturing facility, this is an in-office position
