The Event Centre Sales Associate at the Cochrane RancheHouse helps guests see all that the RancheHouse can provide.

This is a one-year term position.

Ok, but what is an Event Centre Sales Associate at the Town of Cochrane?

This person is the main contact for all wedding customer inquiries and requests. They consult with clients on the details of their special day to ensure that it runs smoothly, prospect new sales, and generate content for our social media sites.

But this role is more than that. This person is highly organized, excelling at juggling multiple balls in the air not literally, of course, but it might feel like that some days. They are enthusiastic about the wedding industry and strive to create magical days for all clients. They build strong relationships fast, providing solutions and a high level of professionalism to all clients. This person is not an event planner, but is a skilled salesperson, communicator, negotiator, and marketer. And they are the content creators for the social media and websites about the Cochrane RancheHouse.

What does the Event Centre Sales Associate do day-today?

  • Plays a key customer service role responding to requests from internal and external customers to determine event needs and provides recommendations based on Event Centre guidelines.
  • Executes contracts and process payments for Event Centre rentals.
  • Provides tours, schedules, and secures meeting spaces.
  • Acts as a liaison with catering and event planners to determine site logistics.
  • Creates and distributes event plans to clients and Facility Service staff in order to communicate all aspects of upcoming events; provides event management services including event logistics, coordination of requirements, and risk management to ensure a successful event; collects post event feedback and informs RancheHouse team members to seek efficiencies.
  • Assists the Manager with the development and implementation of marketing initiatives within the approved budget guidelines such as website and social media content management. This includes but not limited to maintenance of RancheHouse Event Centre brand and online presence, collateral, brochures, guides, and promotional items.
  • Cultivation of leads and sales to increase revenue and exposure of the Event Centre.
  • Leads events such as the Bridal Fair and may attend related Trade Shows and fairs

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Completion of a post-secondary education in event management administration is an asset
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media management
  • Experience working with EventPro software is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability in creating a strong social media presence
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills
