Sander Geophysics (SGL) specializes in high-resolution airborne geophysical surveys for resource exploration, as well as geographical and environmental mapping. The company carries out airborne gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric surveys, using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
Sander Geophysics is currently seeking a Geophysicist to join the growing team. You will be working at the head office location in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and also at our global field project locations which occur on all continents.
**Responsibilities of the Position**
- Process geological and airborne geophysical data
- Monitor collected data for quality control as it is processed and prior to finalization
- Produce geophysical maps such as colour and contour maps as well as Digital Elevation Models
- Process airborne magnetometer, gamma-ray spectrometer, and/or gravimeter data;
- Assist in the development of survey flight lines and flying surface plans
- Operate and troubleshoot geophysical equipment
- Understand, comply with, and promote all company safety precautions and policies including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations
- Attend and complete training courses and/or company examinations, as required
- Maintain a high level of technical and operational knowledge through direct engagement with colleagues, supervisors, and personal development
- Maintain good records and documentation of all plans, reports, and tests
- Maintain project schedules and goals
- Perform and complete other duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications**:
- University Degree in Earth Sciences, Geophysics or Physics
- 5 years of airborne geophysical experience
- Experience with field work
- Experience/Familiarity with geophysical instrument operations
- Extensive Computer experience
- Willing to travel globally for extended periods
- Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for the purpose of traveling globally
- Valid driver’s license
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
