**Responsibilities**:
he MDR Resource Technician is responsible for set of OR items for each case, checking the case carts to ensure all supplies and items are available, ordering inventory, and special stock, arranging for equipment to be repaired, and liaising with MDR throughout the day to ensure supplies and equipment are available for emergency cases. The MDR Resource Technician functions as a resource for MDR staff regarding OR issues.

The MDR Resource Technician will review Manufacturer's Instructions for Use literature to assist with the approval of instrumentation and equipment to be purchased and processed for the OR. They will troubleshoot for substitution of equipment requirements and adjustments for pick sheets related to MDR. The MDR Resource Technician will be responsible for requisitioning, maintenance and control of surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments and for related functions that contribute to the indirect care of surgical patients.

The MDR Resource Technician will assist Manager/delegate with the integration of changes to instruments, ensure documentation is kept up to date and proper communication between the OR and MDR departments.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing Technician education program
- Exceptional organizational skills, excellent communication skills, bookkeeping (i.e. logging of instruments, etc.)
- Time management skills and prioritizing needs for the OR. Being able to handle stressful situations and quick thinking
- Knowledge of OR policies, procedures and process - follows aseptic technique
- Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures
- Knowledge of current OR equipment, supplies and companies
- Working computer knowledge - i.e. internet, word, excel, SAP
- Knowledge of supplies materials needed for surgical cases
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage/prioritize handling a fluctuating workload in a stress-filled environment
- Communication skills
- Confidentiality

**Hours of Work**:
Permanent, Part-Time position; 15 hours biweekly

**Salary Information**:
$21.36 - $25.05 hourly
