Your Opportunity:
This position is a front-line role, working with the public in Calgary Zone. This role is critical in conducting investigations associated with notifiable enteric disease reports, animal bites/rabies prevention and suspect foodborne illness complaints. The position ensures that notifiable disease reports, complaints and animal bite reports receive a timely response, in order to promote and protect public health and safety.

Description:
As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or in a related field of study plus a recognized Environmental Health technical program. Completion of certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada). Active Member in Good Standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum one year of experience with Environmental Public Health & EPHIS database.
