Linde Canada Inc., a leading supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, has an opening in our location in Hanover, ON for a:
Class 3 Driver - Full Time

This position operates various trucks such as tractor trailers, bobtail and cryogenic liquid transport vehicles to transport cylinders, liquid or tube trailers to branch, plant, and customer locations.

Key Accountabilities:

- Deliver microbulk products to scheduled customers via a tandem, single axle truck, tractor-trailer combination.
- Drivers will be required to load and unload cryogenic liquids
- Complete electronic trip reports, fuel tickets and other necessary reports
- Complete site surveys of equipment and identify potential repairs of tanks at customer locations
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
- Use of handheld electronic computers to process deliveries at customer sites
- Following all standard operating procedures to safely complete deliveries at customer sites
- Completion of pre and post-trip inspections

Employees with staff supervision and/or management responsibilities will ensure that assigned staff abide by the above, and actively identify, assess and correct safety hazards, as required.

Qualifications - External

**Education**:

- High school graduate or equivalent experience

**Experience**:

- 24 months for commercial vehicles as a pre-condition for selection.
- 12 months of relevant driving experience within the previous 2 years with equipment that is similar in size and type the driver will operate. (before 3 Years)
- No Level 1 or Level 2 equivalent “in control” vehicle incidents within the past 24 months.
- Road test to verify defensive and safe driving capabilities for commercial vehicle drivers.
- Medical fitness confirmation for commercial vehicle drivers.
- Relevant product knowledge and experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- Mechanical Aptitude
- Knowledge of compressed gases and the safe handling of gases
- Valid DZ/Class 3 license or AZ/Class 1 license (as applicable) with air brake endorsement
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
- System (WHMIS) training
- Some knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of onboard computer
- Ability to operate a smartphone

Physical and Sensory Demands:

- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Performing physical tasks that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time to complete specific maintenance tasks.
- Ability to complete tasks in restricted spaces or awkward positions
- Ability to spend long periods of time sitting while driving

Working Environment:

- Customer sites (bars and restaurants, medical marijuana production facilities, breweries, swimming pools, metal fabrication facilities, hospitals/laboratories.)

- Outdoors in inclement weather (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
