**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**
- Creates, modifies, and runs operational and ad-hoc enrolment reports for various audiences including: Office of the Registrar departments (such as Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid); internal stakeholders (such as senior management, Academic Excellence, Marketing); and external stakeholders/governing bodies (such as MCU, OCAS, Stats Canada).
- Works with requestor to fully understand their data needs; collects and documents business requirements for new reports using the department standard.
- Creates moderately to highly complex query database programs to extract requested data from the Student Information System (SIS), Banner.
- Modifies existing operational reports to incorporate new elements and verifies the accuracy of data before distributing the report.
- Groups data and formats reports in a presentable manner; creates and runs reports according to the agreed upon schedule.
- Creates a variety of file formats for transferring data to other post-secondary institutions and third-party organizations.
- Notifies the appropriate department when incorrect or missing data is found in the database.
- Assists in the maintenance of the master list of reports and ensures that requirements for all reports are documented and current. Assists in the creation of the annual enrolment reporting calendar of reports.
- Documents any database modifications using the department standard.
- Supports the Registrar, the Manager of Enrolment Planning, Reporting and Audit, the Coordinator of Enrolment Planning and Reporting and the Academic Departments by providing technical assistance in enrolment reporting related matters.
- Acts as back up to the Coordinator of Enrolment Planning and Reporting by supporting the creation and ongoing maintenance of the College’s enrolment plan (managing the database, updating enrolment numbers, maintaining formula integrity and importing/exporting data).
- Assists the Business Process Integration Department with projects as assigned.
- Keeps abreast of changes to the Banner Database and remains current on Banner Tables.
- Ensures that all desktop software used is current; keeps current on new software and technologies.
- Investigates and makes recommendations to the Manager, Enrolment Planning, Reporting and Audit on software or process improvements related to Enrolment Reporting.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- Three-year diploma/ degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Information Technology or Business Analysis or other related field is required.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working in an educational institution at the Post-Secondary Level (Ontario College Experience preferred), with knowledge of Office of the Registrar Business Processes.
- Proven experience and expertise with mining data from large databases, specifically large Student Information Systems, e.g. Banner.
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing and interpreting data; advanced knowledge of MS Access and Excel.
- Strong negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills in order to identify problems, determine possible solutions, and select appropriate actions.
- Exceptional time management, multitasking and organizational skills; ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines, while working with competing priorities and interruptions.
- Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
- Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork and people skills.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
**Hours of Work: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.**
**Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.**
