Clearpoint Surgical Toronto, 830 Dixon Rd. is currently recruiting for a** Facility Maintenance Technician - Part Time**
**25-30 hous a week, available on call for emergencies as well. (Availability 7 AM- 2PM)**
We're seeking a versatile individual capable of delivering exceptional customer service while contributing to the upkeep of our worksite.
**Position Summary**
Your primary responsibility entails overseeing the operation of key base building systems for our surgical facility on a 24/7 basis. This involves conducting tests, monitoring performance, and coordinating routine maintenance activities through external contractors. Additionally, you'll be tasked with ensuring the completion of minor daily handyman tasks, repairs, building maintenance, and managing shipping and receiving operations, either independently or in compliance with the Landlord's requirements.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Conduct daily rounds (Boiler Room, Gas Storage, Parking Area, Water Meter Room, Electrical Rooms, Front and Back Entrance, Fire/Medical Gas/Emergency Generator Panel Checks, BAS)
- Manage the Shipping/Receiving function of the facility; coordinating returns; receiving and delivering goods, verifying shipping documents, working closely with Inventory Specialist and Environmental Services team;
- Manage waste removal of facility
- Assist with stocking of linens and manage third party laundry service
- Perform cross-functional and other housekeeping duties consistent with the job classification, as required
- Weekly Emergency Generator Check and Test
- Weekly verification of all indoor and outdoor light fixtures and signage
- Monthly check and maintenance of roof top unit, inspection of fire extinguishers and cabinets
- Coordinate and ensure the quality of third party service contractors
- Authorizes all operational, quarterly and annual maintenance and service plans
- Provides technical advice to the Director of Operations related to system controls and day to day operations.
- Reviews and actions patient and staff complaints in a timely fashion
- Scrutinizes the contract documents to identify opportunities to improve performance and maximize maintenance contract value as well as to identify potential savings
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations in identifying clinical program planning priorities and service delivery related to current and emerging needs
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- A minimum completion of a community college diploma program in Building Operations, Relevant Trade (e.g., Electrician, Mechanical, etc.), or recognized equivalent required
- Post-Secondary degree in building systems, or other relevant discipline, or experience considered equivalent
- Member of a professional facility management body (i.e. Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society)
- Five years facility experience at the operations level
- Experience with building automation systems required
- Hospital experience is an asset
- Knowledge of safety procedures, life support systems including: medical air, vacuum and oxygen systems
- Knowledge of Operating Engineers Act, CSA Standards, ASME Code, Ontario Building/Fire Codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Plumbing Code;
- Excellent organizational planning, time management, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent analytical, problem resolution skills required
- Ability to read and write English and to interpret basic mechanical, electrical and structural drawings.
- Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of industry standards, company policies and procedures (including internal “Codes”), financial control principles, hazardous and biomedical waste procedures and WHMIS and OHS regulations
- Self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision preferred
- Must be physically able to do the job which requires frequency standing, walking, bending and lifting
