**Employee Health Services Assistant**

**Student Position, Non-Union**

**S/22-17**

The Assistant, as a member of the healthcare team, is directly responsible to the Employee Health Lead and supports Employee Health Services in keeping with the philosophy and mission of St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph (SJHCG) and established goals, objectives and policies of SJHCG.

**Principle Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the Employee Health Services department
- Support Employee Health staff as required, to research and prepare presentations, communications and reports for various internal and external committees
- Assist with the coordination and planning of clinics for all staff
- With direction, supports the new employee onboarding
- Maintain statistical data and provide routine reports
- Maintain employee health records and medical documentation
- Manage appointment bookings
- Participate in onboarding of new hires by completing Health Assessments and medical requirement follow up
- Support EHS improvement initiatives and special projects

**Qualifications**:

- Confirmed enrollment in a health professional program at a post secondary institution
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of the Health Centre
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database systems (MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer-service focus and experience preferred
- Ability to take initiative and work independently under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Adaptable and flexible to changing workplace demands
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Maintain a high standard of work and an excellent attendance record
