**Summary**

The Zipline Guide position is essential to the WildPlay Niagara Falls team, providing excellent service for our guests as they facilitate their experience. Our guides are knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, and can put others at ease. They thrive outdoors, love being physically active, are comfortable with heights and get great satisfaction from supervising and supporting others to achieve things they didn't think they could do.

**R**esponsibilities and Duti**e**s**
- Participate in all opening inspections and daily gear inspections, and escalate all issues to Team Lead
- Demonstrate the use of equipment to guests and give clear, concise safety briefings
- Ensure the appropriate fit, adjustments, and use of equipment before and during activity
- Ensure activity guidelines, policies and procedures are respected
- Ensure guests enjoy safe, positive, and enriching experiences
- Provide excellent customer service and guest engagement
- Participate as a positive and proactive member of the WildPlay team
- Escalate to a Team Lead if guests are posing risk to themselves or others
- Monitor elements for risk-management, assessing and intervening when situations require (according to methods discussed in training modules)
- Maintain a clean work environment with tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, etc., as required by Team Leads or Park Management
- Pass on any positive or negative feedback from guests to management
- Report all incidents and/or inappropriate behaviour of guests or co-workers to the Team Leads, Supervisors, or Park Management
- Report malfunctions or abnormalities to Team Leads or Tech Team
- Understand and practice site emergency and evacuation plan
- Be aware of terrain risks (loose rock, snowy, icy or muddy trails) and take appropriate actions to manage these risks by escalating to a Team Lead or taking care of these risks if applicable
- Consistently deliver high standards of work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, sun, rain, and temperature change
- Take appropriate actions to manage risks (hydration, element evacuation procedures, signs of frostbite, hypothermia, hyperthermia, heat stroke, etc.)
- Physical demands include continuously holding, carrying and lifting Zipline equipment, frequent walking/standing, and frequent bending/twisting/kneeling. *All lifts over 50 lbs. require assistance from a co-worker or the use of a mechanical device*
- Carry out other work as directed by Team Lead, Supervisors, or Park Management

**Required Qualifications and Skills**
- Unfailing attention to detail

- Good judgment and strong decision-making skills
- Must be able to act both independently and as a team player
- A positive attitude and openness to feedback
- Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service
- Physical demands include continuously holding, carrying and lifting Zipline equipment, frequent walking/standing, and frequent bending/twisting/kneeling. *All lifts over 50 lbs. require assistance from a co-worker or the use of a mechanical device*
- On-the-job training will be provided upon employment._

**Preferred Qualifications and Skills**
- Knowledge and/or experience in outdoor recreation (either as a participant or through previous employment experience)
- Experience in a risk-management position
- Experience working in a fast paced, hospitality-based environment

**Work**Department**
The Zipline Guide position falls under the Element Department. They report to the supervision of the Zipline Guide Team Lead, Element Supervisor, and Park Management.

**Work Schedule**

The Zipline Guide works a flexible schedule of full-time and part-time employment based on the needs of the business. This includes working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Student wage**:$16.20
