**Compensation Range**:$11,705.58 - $18,265.42 CAD Monthly

The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

The Assistant Dean develops strategies to revolutionize the way UBC Sauder fosters learning and research and operates as a transformational learning institute, in order to cultivate a unified, seamless, and enhanced environment for students, employees and faculty related to IT. The Assistant Dean aims to enhance support for UBC students, streamline user experience, introduce innovative tools, redefine operational methodologies, and enhance data reporting for strategic decision-making.

**Organizational Status**

The Assistant Dean reports to the Dean, UBC Sauder School of Business and manages multiple teams.

Has autonomy over IT related issues for the school, provides a single point of contact for all core information technologies at UBC Sauder, and is the key partner with central IT.

Works closely with other UBC Sauder Assistant Deans, Senior Associate Deans, school’s senior leadership and employees, as well as internal and external stakeholders, including members of the UBC community and members of the public, vendors and clients.

Is the main liaison between UBC Sauder units, the broader UBC Sauder community, and UBC IT at Sauder.

**Work Performed**

**Information Technology Management**
- Determines, leads, and manages the strategic vision and direction for the highly specialized, complex, and multi-faceted information technology function within UBC Sauder at both campuses (Point Grey and Robson Square).
- Sets the overall direction and strategy for the UBC Sauder portfolio which includes the integration of systems across campus to help the school and the university achieve their strategic goals.
- Develops transformational strategies, operating plans, targets and measures, and leads the day-to-day delivery of its services, programs and activities.
- Works with key partners and school’s senior leadership to understand and anticipate business and IT needs of the school and its units and centres.
- Overall UBC Sauder representative for IT products and services and is the main contact for UBC IT. Manages the partnership agreement with UBCIT for desktop, audio visual and web support service delivery.
- Responsible for the implementation of the innovative and creative technological solutions in teaching, learning and operations for the new building, which will house new centres, learning labs and classrooms, event spaces and other spaces for learning, research and community engagement.
- Leads the in-depth and comprehensive analysis and evaluation of existing or proposed business procedures, problems and user requirements with clients, business analysts, architects, and team members, based on overall strategies and system infrastructure.
- Creates and defines overall UBC Sauder project scope, governance principles, schedules, budgets and resource allocation for IT projects.
