**Job Functions**:Job functions include but are not limited to the following.**:

- Partner with operations to support business processes and related accounting impact for improvements to operational efficiencies & profitability.
- Provides management with timely, accurate, and relevant financial reporting that is meaningful to running the business.
- Lead and work along with the extended Accounting team to support effective and efficient delivery of accounting processes including:

- Establishes and maintains accurate monthly closing of assigned plant(s) financials, per the Company’s closing cycle.
- Participate in all facets of the month-end closing process, including the creation of journal entries and preparation of variance analysis with commentary to explain monthly results for assigned plants that can be understood by plant and senior operations management.
- Oversight of plants monthly / quarterly inventory counts, and annual plant site visits as required for completeness and accuracy of reported inventory (raw materials and finished goods).
- Coordinates and prepares audit requirements to reconcile inventory and provides analysis ensuring it is recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Responsible for the adherence to and execution of the company’s accounting procedures and controls.
- Performs various account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Understand assigned plant(s) inventory composition and monthly results, customer base and its relationship with monthly sales, and working climate to provide effective direction and assistance in resolving month-end or daily issues with current and future action plans.
- Provide support to operations or regional personnel when information about an assigned plant is requested.
- Assist Accounting and finance organizations with special projects.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition for legacy ERP for several Canada plants.
- Manage and coach four direct reports transacting in a legacy ERP.
- Work with Corporate and local plant resources to support transition from local legacy ERP to the Company standard ERP (JD Edwards).

**Qualifications / Additional Skills**:
Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related area.
- Minimum of at least 7+ years of experience, 3+ years of management experience
- Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience.
- Must have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and inventory cost accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- ERP systems experience in financial and manufacturing modules
- Good mix of functional, process knowledge and technology.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- This position involves frequent contact with internal customers / stakeholders within our various functions. Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Team player with the ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance
- Must possess a strong work ethic.
- Travel 25% to 30%

Preferred:

- Certification such as CPA or CMA
- Prior Public accounting experience
- JD Edwards experience
- Bilingual (French speaking)
