(1) Port Stanley Visitor Centre - Summer Student
**Posting Date**: February 12, 2025
Incumbents successful to these positions will staff various tourist booths throughout Elgin County providing tourists with information. Although each Tourism Assistant is responsible for one main location, all Tourism Assistants will be crossed-trained to cover hours in at least one other location. Responsibilities will include setting up and staffing an information booth at events, maintaining inventories of brochures, retaining tourism survey data, updating the Tourism website, database development, promoting Elgin County to the general public and other duties as assigned.
**Hours of Work**: Approx. 35 hours per week - hours will vary including weekends
**Effective**: May 15, 2025 to August 31, 2025 (*Subject to Grant Approval*)
**Salary**: Minimum Wage

**Qualifications**:

- Must have own transportation with a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license and clear Ontario Driver Abstract.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding the daily operations of the Visitor Centre.
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of post-secondary education (Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field preferred).
- Previous customer service or tourism-related experience is an asset.
