Clinical Extern

Nestled in the heart of cottage country, just 2 ½ hours northeast of Toronto in the Haliburton Highlands, Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) delivers high-quality health services to residents, cottagers, and visitors to Haliburton County and the surrounding area.

**Position Scope**:
The Clinical Extern is an unregulated health care provider working under the supervision of registered health care professionals. They will work within a changing environment in interprofessional teams to advocate for and promote wellness while ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care. The Clinical Extern will develop their competencies through learning, education, experience and reflective practice. As part of our ongoing commitment to professional growth and development, Clinical Externs may be considered for future opportunities upon graduation and licensure.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Must be a Nursing Student that has completed year one of a College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) approved nursing program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with all levels of staff and the community.
- Excellent issues management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands at a time.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement, and as a team member.
