Environmental Services Manager

**The Opportunity**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Planning, implementing, and executing a daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedule of preventative maintenance activities
- Identifying and investigating residence deficiencies and equipment malfunctions and taking appropriate corrective action;
- Coordinating building, landscaping, electrical, plumbing and equipment repair services;
- Sourcing and procuring of high quality and cost-effective maintenance and housekeeping products and services;
- Understanding, following and updating all health and safety policies and procedures;
- Conducting regular fire, emergency preparedness drills and assisting with RHRA mandates and inspections;
- Performing minor building, landscaping, electrical, painting, plumbing and equipment repairs to when required;
- Ensuring resident rooms/units are prepared for occupancy;
- Maintaining the appearance of the residence by implementing regular painting and decorating;
- Chairing as a member of Joint Occupational Health & Safety;
- Participating in operational decision making with the leadership team,
- Performing winter related safety activities, including salting residence grounds, monitoring and preventing falling ice and snow, and ensuring grates and drains are fee of ice and debris to allow water melt to flow
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience, retirement home experience
- Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and equipment maintenance;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task;
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Knowledge and ability to operate all fire equipment;
- Basic computer skills required;
- Experience in a managerial role and proven supervisory skills;
- Ability to perform required physical duties which may include bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying boxes, tools and equipment;
- Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations, to be on call and carry a cellular phone and be able to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the residence.
