iScope Concussion & Pain Clinics is a specialized treatment and assessment Center offering a range of services and treatments with several locations across Canada. Our clinics use a variety of diagnostic tools to identify the root cause of a patient’s pain. Our team of highly skilled Physicians and Allied Health Professionals work together and provide a personalized treatment plan so our patients can feel better sooner. **ROLE SUMMARY**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for the initial contact with new patients upon receiving referrals from external providers and schedule intake appointments. Using a pre-established intake form, the Care Coordinator will meet with patients and complete an intake prior to seeing internal physicians.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with physicians for internal assessments and recommended therapy. This includes scheduling initial therapy visits, including Botox and trigger point injections. Completes necessary paperwork for external referrals, such as optometry.
- Ensures smooth communication and collaboration with both internal and external healthcare providers.
- Supports the creation and submission treatment plans that are catered to the patient’s unique needs in partnership with the interdisciplinary treatment providers.
- Acts as a primary point of contact for patients throughout their recovery journey. Fielding patient calls, addressing inquiries, and updating records based on symptom updates received from patients.
- Responsible for connecting with patients three months after the initial visit to assess their therapy progress and communicates or schedules necessary results with follow-up visits with physicians for ongoing care.
- Works closely with insurance adjusters, particularly in cases where recommended therapy is declined by ICBC or WorkSafe BC. Follows up with adjusters to address any concerns and ensure necessary approvals.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- Prior experience in outpatient clinic coordination or healthcare administration.
- Familiarity with concussion and pain management practices is a plus.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:

- Understanding of healthcare structures, processes, and outpatient clinic operations.
- Familiarity with medical terms and procedures related to concussion and pain management.
- Knowledge of insurance processes, specially with ICBC and WorkSafe BC, including dealing with adjusters and navigating coverage issues.
- Understanding how to manage and process referrals for specialized services.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance professionals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage patient schedules, appointments, and paperwork efficiently.
- Ability to empathize with patients experiencing pain or recovery, providing compassionate support.
- Capacity to address challenges, resolve conflicts, and find solutions to ensure smooth patient care coordination.
- Competence in using healthcare information systems and standard office software, such as Input Health.
- Ability to prioritize patient needs, ensuring a positive and supportive care experience.
