Safety Specialist
- Develop and update Critical Job Inventories, Job Hazard Assessments, and Safe Work Procedures/Practices
- Maintain all H&S records and data, including incident statistics, training documentation, and return-to-work records
- Support the development and implementation of H&S program elements
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling training programs, audiometric testing, and safety-related activities
- Participate in conducting audits, inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations
- Generate H&S reports, presentations, and internal communications
- Attend and document H&S-related meetings; distribute minutes promptly
- Provide general health and safety support to operational staff
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 1-2 years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety preferred; NSCO certification strongly considered
- Familiarity with Made Safe Certification is an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act & Regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence a positive safety culture and lead by example
- Professional, ethical, and enthusiastic about workplace safety
