We are looking for a motivated **Customized Employment Specialist** to join our **WorkBC** team in** Cloverdale **and **Delta**
**POSITION FUNCTION**:
As a vital member of the WorkBC team, the **Customized Employment Specialist** empowers clients living with disabilities to secure long-term, fulfilling employment opportunities by fostering meaningful connections with local employers and crafting tailored work experiences. Under the expert guidance of the WorkBC Centre Customized Employment Coordinator, the **Customized Employment Specialist** collaborates with the Client Services Team to provide comprehensive, client-centered support that maximizes job attachment success rates.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in adult education, counselling, psychology, social work, adult learning, human services, or a combination of training and two or more years of experience.
- Demonstrate expertise in:
- Assessing complex client needs related to physical limitations, developmental disabilities, mobility skills, and cognitive, social, and emotional barriers
- Interpreting clinical assessments
- Delivering customized employment, job coaching, and job development services.
- A deep understanding of the Employment Insurance Act, BC Employment and Assistance Program, and WorkBC Employment Program policies
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation within the Lower Mainland.
**DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Demonstrated experience working with clients who have disabilities, including physical limitations, developmental disabilities, mobility skills, and cognitive, social, and emotional barriers.
- Familiarity with accommodations and adaptations required in the workplace to support clients with disabilities.
- Knowledge of diverse communities and cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous communities and newcomers to Canada.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, employers, and other stakeholders to facilitate client job placement and support.
- Experience developing and implementing employment plans that incorporate individualized accommodations and supports.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong group and one-on-one facilitation skills on employability and job search skills, and career exploration and development.
- Experience managing and prioritizing a large caseload while maintaining a high level of service quality.
- Working knowledge of existing programs and services, community resources, and local labour market conditions.
- Experience building partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate client job placement.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience providing customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and Integrated Case Management system (ICM).
- Tactful, discreet, diplomatic, patient, flexible and possesses cultural sensitivity and excellent judgement in decision-making.
**BONUS SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS**:
