**About the Role**:
**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Safety Management**:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for all warehouse staff.
- Implement and promote best practices for handling food products to minimize contamination risks
**Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)**:
- Uphold and enforce GMP standards throughout all warehouse operations to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
- Conduct training for warehouse staff on GMPs, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, equipment maintenance, and proper handling procedures.
- Regularly review and update GMP protocols to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
**Inventory Management**:
- Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels and timely replenishment of supplies.
- Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce waste.
**Team Leadership and Development**:
- Supervise, mentor, and train warehouse staff, promoting professional development and career advancement.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages open communication and engagement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
**Operational Efficiency**:
- Monitor and analyze warehouse operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate daily workflow and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Implement process improvements to enhance the overall performance of the warehouse.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Collaborate with other departments, including production, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to inventory, safety incidents, and team performance.
- 5 +years of progressive experience in warehouse management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Ability to move/lift 50lbs repeatedly
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Proven ability to manage growth projects within an operations environment
- Valid driver's license
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of tools
- Effective communication skills are required
- Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions quickly
- Effective in a fast-paced environment, working quickly and with little guidance
- Being able to work independently and keep yourself and others organized
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the team
- Flexible work schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed
- Professional attitude and approach when dealing with vendors, truck drivers, delivery personnel, etc.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to new tasks as they come up

**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Supervising: 3 years (preferred)
- food production: 5 years (preferred)
