The Legislative Assembly of Ontario seeks an IT-oriented Broadcast Technician who, as part of our Broadcast and Recording Service Branch, in Toronto, ON, will maintain, repair, install and monitor audio, video, television, computer equipment and associated servers and network infrastructure.

**What You’ll Do**:
**You’ll act with integrity to**:
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in a non-partisan support role
- Demonstrate the utmost tact, diplomacy and confidentiality in a politically sensitive environment
**You’ll support our collaboration as you**:
- Respond to requests to troubleshoot technical faults with broadcast equipment and broadcast systems
- Set up, configure and repair broadcast-related equipment and software, including baseband audio-video, RF, packetized audio-video, file-based audio-video transport and storage and SNMP-based “dashboard” type configuration and monitoring tools
- Install, upgrade and maintain workstations, servers, network switches and other IP-related equipment to ensure the ongoing running of broadcast operations as it continues to evolve into an IT-centric technology
- Set up and configure broadcast equipment on premise and for special or remote events and, on occasion, assist with operation
- Keep up to date on new, emerging and ever-changing technologies and standards related to broadcast recording services
**How You Qualify**:
**You demonstrate excellence through your**:
- Excellent ability to troubleshoot, assess, diagnose and effect repair or remedy to faults in the broadcast facility
- Experience in the installation, set-up, maintenance and repair of legacy and modern broadcast television audio/video equipment
- Excellent knowledge of computer systems, and networking topology, and understanding of the principles of IP technologies, including TCP/IP, network fundamentals, LAN/WAN, VPN, routing, firewall, VLAN
- Strong knowledge in the following areas: Broadcast SDI baseband infrastructure, Media Asset Management software, streaming software and hardware, compression standards, ASI and IP transport streams, QAM modulation/demodulation; knowledge of satellite uplink/downlink for television would be an asset
- Post-secondary education in Electronics, Broadcast Technology or a related field and IT
