We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Stewarding Department for casual STEWARD positions. Reporting to the Stewarding Supervisors, this position is responsible for:
**General Responsibilities**:

- Cleaning all kitchen equipment, food storage areas and the kitchen itself, working closely with the culinary team to maintain cleanliness and Food safe preparation standards.
- Ensuring the kitchen has sufficient stocks of clean utensils, equipment for service and adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Assisting with dish-outs.
- Expediting food and equipment for functions to different areas of the building.
- Disposing of all waste and recycling according to the criteria of our recycling program.
- Running dishes through the dishwashers, ensuring they are being maintained and cleaned properly.
- Working within WorkSafe B.C. standards concerning the use of chemicals, and other physical demands in the workplace.
- Working with manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning dangerous equipment.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- Previous experience in a fast-paced production kitchen is preferred.
- Strive for service excellence; a professional and positive attitude that contributes to teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a changing environment.
- Strong verbal English skills to communicate with team members and for safety within the kitchen. Written English proficiency to read and understand manufacturer’s equipment manuals and Material Safety Data Sheets, as well as Event Orders.
- Available to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
- WHMIS training and Food Safe Level 1 are preferred.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Strong physical health and fitness, as the position involves the moving of heavy objects, some lifting and carrying, pushing and pulling of heavy equipment, manual cleaning, previous experience in a fast-paced production kitchen is preferred.
