**Carpenter Apprentice - Interior Finishing**

**Company Overview**

Gunther’s Building Center is a leading supplier and distributor of interior finishing products, serving the Calgary marketplace for 68 years. We are proud to have one of Calgary's largest inventories stored at our centrally located facility. GBC caters to single and multi-family residential building contractors and developers in the Calgary and surrounding area. We are currently searching for a full-time **Apprentice Carpenter **to join our in-house finishing team.

**Position Description**

Join our in-house team of Interior Finishing Carpenters. Learn and improve your finishing skills with our experienced carpenters and installers. You’ll assist with the installation of interior doors, trim, bathroom hardware, locks etc. Select, measure and mark materials for interior trim and mouldings, Cut materials and install with nail gun, glue, bolts etc. Reading Bueprints and following directions.

**Key** **Duties and Responsibilities**

Collaborate with our existing carpenters and supervisors to complete projects
- Select, measure and mark materials for interior trim and mouldings
- Cut materials and install with nail gun, glue, bolts etc.
- Read Blueprints and following directions.
- Able to use common hand tools and power tools
- Possess Physical stamina for lifting equipment and working in various spaces
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment
- Reliable, attention to detail, take pride in your completed work
- Standard work week for interior finisher is 40 hours Monday through Friday from 8-5. Depending on company workload there are opportunities for overtime during peak periods

**Qualifications**
- Required to have a strong attention to detail and an ability to interpret and process data accurately
- Must be highly attentive to numbers, details and organization
- Must have the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities while maintaining a professional and positive attitude

Salary From $20-$25/hour (Based on Experience)
