The _**Operations Shipping/Receiving**_ employee is primarily responsible for assisting with the receipt of incoming trucks as well as verifying the product on outgoing trucks. (this includes the completion of load documents, tallies, bills of lading etc.) They also perform rehandling tasks as needed in the plant and yard.

**DAY SHIFT Monday - Friday**:

- **Please note this is a unionized environment. The start rate shall be $1.00 per hour below the job rate for 3 months. **_

**Responsibilities & Requirements**
- Work in compliance with all company rules and regulationsr
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and SOPs
- Wear all PPE required and work in a safe manner
- Participate in all company mandated training in good faithi
- Come to work prepared (both mentally and materially) to work in a variety of environments (all seasons, indoors & outdoors)
- Have excellent knowledge of operations and processes as necessary to the position
- Complete appropriate forms legibly and clearly
- Perform computer functions as necessary to complete assigned paperwork
- Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the position (quality inspections upon receipt, filling out receiving paperwork, tallying trucks to ensure accuracy)
- Strap and Tally Lumber & Composite
- Rehandle Lumber & Composite
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas
- Abide to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards
- Report all Health & Safety issues immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma/GED
- Forklift Experience is an asset but is not required
- Proficiency in English
- Stand/walk for significant periods of time
- Be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Good manual dexterity, hand eye co-ordination
- Comfortable completing repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills

**Ability to**:

- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
