Our company is seeking an efficient and hardworking Construction Excavation Foreman to join our skilled team of professionals.
- The Excavation Foreman coordinates activities concerned with the operation and maintenance of construction equipment and systems.
- Implements and ensures the implementation of construction procedures, specifications, and work schedules.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of equipment operators engaged in construction projects.
- Perform daily safety checks.
- Fill out equipment logbooks.
**Qualifications**
- Heavy Equipment Certification considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Previous heavy construction and excavation experience considered an asset.
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to efficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that all tasks are being completed safely and in a timely manner
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks requiring the use of independent judgment and action
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Supervise on-site teams in accordance with defined schedules and procedures.
- Set and delegate daily work objectives.
- Determine and recommend improvements in methods, schedules, and procedures, as needed.
- Confer with supervisory personnel to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, schedules, and complaints.
- Coordinate activities concerned with the operation of construction equipment.
- Ensure personnel follow all regulatory requirements and maintenance items are addressed by shop and field maintenance.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes, and other regulations.
- Drive and operate heavy construction equipment, as needed.
- Daily reporting of time, equipment, and material usage.
