**Key Responsibilities**

Under the direction of the NCO i/c Major Crimes and the Victim Services Coordinator, you will work with families of missing persons by providing information, support, referrals and addressing community concerns within the Justice system on behalf of families of missing persons.

(1) Serves as the Victim Services Unit’s specialist on the needs of families of missing persons.
(2) Provides families of missing persons with emotional support, information and practical assistance and referral to Justice and community resources. This may be through telephone contact, in or out of office contact, or by any appropriate means required.
(3) Works collaboratively with specialized Government and community partners such as Saskatchewan Missing Persons Partnership to provide comprehensive services.
(4) Works closely with police investigators including Missing Persons Investigator, Cold Case Investigator, and the Major Crimes Unit to provide a coordinated response to families of missing persons.
(5) Work closely with the Unit’s Indigenous Resource Officer(s) in order to provide a culturally appropriate response to Indigenous families.
(6) Links with the Missing Persons Liaisons in the other two police services on developing consistent and appropriate practices, procedures, and training materials regarding supporting families of missing persons in Saskatchewan.
(7) Provides training, advice and guidance to other victim services programs in Saskatchewan on best practices for supporting families of missing persons.
(8) Performs general victim services caseload duties and tasks as assigned.
(9) Other related duties as required.

**Competencies**

(1) Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Education or Human Justice with two years applicable experience. A Diploma or Certificate in Justice or a related human services field with relevant experience will also be considered.
(2) Good interpersonal and communication skills, personal maturity and strong problem solving skills.
(3) Thorough knowledge of criminal justice system and community resources and a demonstrated ability to work within a police and Justice environment.
(4) Must complete Victim Services training.
(5) Must be willing to work shifts, days and evenings with some weekends.
(6) Must have a valid driver’s license and adhere to a Code of Ethics.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $69,530.00-$86,913.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
