Annual production of 335 million seedlings makes PRT the largest producer of containerized forest seedlings in North America. We produce trees for customers from British Columbia to Ontario and Michigan to Alabama to Oregon.

**Job Description**:
**Position Summary**:
The Manager of Health and Safety will work with Senior Management and have responsibility for the ongoing development, the systematic monitoring and the evaluation of the company’s HSE programs to ensure continual improvement and standards are being met within the company and across Canadian and US governing bodies. The Safety Manager is responsible for the organization and execution of corrective and preventative safety activities with the overall objection to drive an incident free workplace and return our employees home safe each day.

This position will require a significant amount or travel to our network of forest seedling nurseries across Canada and the US.

**Qualifications**:
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**:

- Degree/Diploma in HSE or related field preferred, Safety certification(s) and/or designate required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with coordinating and/or managing a safety program for a multi-site employer
- Experience with regulatory agencies across multi-jurisdictions and thorough knowledge of Canadian and US Health and Safety Regulations and legislation.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and engage with senior leaders.
- Strong written, verbal & presentation skills. Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and takes initiative
- Strong proven problem solving, analytical and reporting skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle for business
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is an asset
