Steel River Group is seeking a **Financial Controller** to join our growing team of experienced and dedicated professionals. The **Financial Controller** will be integral in providing efficient and effective accounting leadership to all of Steel River Group’s operating companies.

**Key Job Duties**:

- Manage the accounting team, including Accounting Leads, A/R, A/P, and Payroll staff
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries and supporting documentation, including analysis of final posted balances
- Accountable for the accounting of all Steel River companies
- Responsible for reviewing monthly reconciliations of the cash, equity, debt, and intercompany account balances and periodic reconciliation of other general ledger account balances
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly/annual financial statements Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls are in accordance with GAAP, applicable regulations and laws, and best practices are followed
- Ensure controls are in place to adequately monitor the company’s approvals matrix for various corporate payments
- Responsible for reviewing monthly bank reconciliations and investigation of reconciling items for various legal entities.
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly GST/WCB/QST analysis and filings
- Provide project control functions as required
- Lead the annual audit of financial statements and liaise with external accountants/auditors as required
- Lead process improvement through automation of processes including building Power Apps or Dashboards
- Contribute to other special projects as assigned
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer as assigned
- Other tasks and duties as assigned

**Knowledge/Skills Required**:

- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required
- Knowledge of accounting and financial practices and standards
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- High degree of initiative and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to thrive in a high growth company
