**Job Summary**:
The Business System Analyst's role is to participate in the planning, designing and development of efficient business systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering, documenting and analyzing business requirements / user stories and creating system and/or design specifications for in-house developed as well as Commercial-off-the-shelf (CoTS) software. The Business System Analyst is also responsible for liaising with the development team on the design and testing teams to ensure quality assurance.
Essential Qualifications

**Education**:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

**Experience**:

- *Experience translating business needs into technical or functional requirements and managing these through the delivery as part of the requirements lifecycle management process;
- *Experience in conducting market scans for potential solutions, conducting options analyses and producing options analysis reports or business cases;
- *Experience facilitating process mapping workshops, documenting outputs and managing the review process leading to sign-off.
- Experience is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties on a regular basis for a minimum period of two (2) years. However, a shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, and/or level of direct responsibility for a wide variety of complex files and/or projects.

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of the Application/ Software Development Life Cycle;
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.

**Certification & Training**:

- CBAP or CSM certification;
- Six Sigma certification;
- ITIL certification;
- Agile
- CX, UX, UI Design
- DevOps..

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of BPMN 2.0;
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps;
- Knowledge of the Government of Canada Digital Standards.

Experience
- Experience using defect tracking systems such as AzureDevOps;
- Experience writing user stories and defining their acceptance criteria in an Agile environment;
- Experience performing and/or coordinating quality assurance testing for new systems, enhancements and upgrades;
- Experience in coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) activities;
