Industrial Cook

**Whyte’s Foods** is a family-owned food processing business that began in **1892 and **is the largest producer of pickles, relish and maraschino cherries in Canada. We are currently looking to hire Industrial Cooks at our location in Wallaceburg

**Main responsibilities**:

- Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Industrial Cook is responsible for mixing ingredients and cooking the products.
- Products are then transferred to the production lines for packaging.

**General responsibilities**:

- Sterilize the machines and transfer lines according to the safety standards;
- Collect and transfer samples to the laboratory to verify sterilization;
- Make mixtures of ingredients according to the recipes;
- Ensure to follow all recipe steps (CCP, mixes)
- Collect and transfer samples of the finished product to the laboratory for approval;
- Report to the lab any issue with recipes
- Ensure quality of raw material include in the recipe; advise the lab if issue
- Complete production documents;
- Ensure the cleaning of the workspace;
- Sterilize the machines at the end of the day.
- Follow all Company policies (GMP’s, Code of conduct, H & S, etc.)
- 1 year experience in a similar role
- Able to work 10-hour shifts - rotating days and afternoons
- Able to complete required documents accurately.
- Previous experience in a food production facility considered an asset.
- Strong mathematical skills
- Detail orientated
- Able to follow directions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
