**Overview**
We are seeking an enthusiastic Employment Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in, to arrange and monitor student’s work experience placement, advise students’ employment plan and coordinate student job search. Additionally, the Employment Coordinator instructs or facilitates job search classes and organize student activities and events. The Employment Coordinator shall arrange the students to a work experience placement where students are able to gain valuable work experience, utilizing the skills they have acquired in their program, and support their successful transition into the workforce.

**Duties**:

- Advise students with resume writing, job search techniques and interview skills
- Facilitate job search classes and workshops to students.
- Cold-call companies to explore work experience and potential career opportunities for our students.
- Coordinate the work experience placements for students from various college programs
- Ensure all students are placed on appropriate work experience placements on-time.
- Monitor students who are currently on practicum or co-op placements and conduct site-visits to assess their progress as needed.
- Represent Brighton College at industry / networking events for functions related to the Career Services department and build a strong network within the local business community (e.g. Board of Trades, active and potential employers).
- Coordinate various Career Services-related events (e.g. industry event, networking event, guest speakers).
- Assist with using social media avenues such as Facebook & LinkedIn to promote the Student Career Services Department.
- Organize student activities and events
- Maintain alumni engagement.
- Other duties as assigned to support the objectives and purpose of the College.

**Education and Experience**:

- **Certificate, diploma or degree in a related field** (e.g. Career Development Practitioner, marketing)
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
