**Job purpose**

The Retail Associate purpose is to work closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right item(s). To be successful the incumbent should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance to high standards. This position is often the “face” of the company.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Greet customers and assist with purchases
- Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Answer questions regarding the retail sore and its products
- Maintain knowledge of current products, promotions and policies regarding payment and security practices
- Process point of sale purchases. Receive and process cash, credit or debit payments.
- Bag or package purchases
- Maintain the appearance of the retail space, desk and fridge area by sweeping, cleaning shelves and tables
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service between bar and retail
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Open and close cash register, count money, separate charge slips, balance cash drawers
- Watch for and recognize security risk and thefts, and know how to handle these situations
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
- Maintain in-stock and presentable conditions of assigned areas
- Adhere to company’s closing/cleaning procedures
- Attend External Sawdust City Events at various locations
- Monitor and clean tables as needed
- Run food to customers on our patio and in our Saloon.
- Take orders from customers when required
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A passion for customer service
- Outstanding communication skills
- Flexible work schedule
- Knowledge of sales principles
- Experience in retail, customer service, sales or craft beer environment
- Attention to detail coupled with high standards
- May be required to travel to External Events

**Working conditions**

This incumbent works in a retail store location which is clean, comfortable and well-lit.

**Physical requirements**

The incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects (50kg) on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks with breaks.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
