Driver Counselor

We are currently seeking an individual that is Safety minded, who cares about over the Road Safety and Driver Safety

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Communicating the importance of safety to all current and newly hired Drivers and tracking their performance on monthly basis.
- Develop and implement people related strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall safety-first culture.
- Handle driver complaints and work internally to improve driver retention.
- Report and schedule follow-up with drivers on any violations, tickets, accidents, injuries, claims, and other incidents
- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes, identify corrective and preventive actions.
- Communicate effectively and use conflict resolution skills to diffuse any conflicts that may arise with driver. Determine steps and measures necessary to follow up with resolution.
- Develop programs to increase driver engagement and morale.
- Develop and monitor overall strategies, systems and procedures within the organization.
- Serve as a point of contact for driver concerns, providing guidance and resolution.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and policy adherence.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of hours of service, Elog’s, and DOT regulations
- Demonstrate ability to communicate verbally clearly, objectively, and effectively, listen to and understand ideas and information presented in groups and one-on-one.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate information.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Demonstrate collaborative approach that values open and honest communication, integrity, respect, consistency and fairness.
- Ability to work under pressure to accommodate requests and meet deadlines.
- Continually seek ways to improve relations between drivers and the office.
- Proven team player with ability to align position goals with corporate strategic goals.
- Prove strength in communication and relation building.
- Minimum of 3 years of Safety and Compliance experience in Transportation industry is required.
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
