We are searching for a driven, independent Data Science Analyst Summer Student to join our Finance team to help BGE unlock the value of data by connecting insights from multiple sources, developing predictive models, and supporting the integration of AI into our business operations. This position will contribute to better forecasting, smarter inventory management, and enhanced customer service delivery across our manufacturing and service network. This is a summer student role, to assist during May - August with flexible hours.
The day-to-day activities of our Data Science Analyst Summer Student will include:

- Data Analysis: aggregate and analyze data from diverse systems including ERP, CRM, service, and testing platforms.
- Machine Learning and Automation: explore AI and machine learning techniques to generate predictive insights and automate routine analysis.
- Develop Forecasting Models and Dashboards: develop and enhance dashboards to monitor key operational and financial metrics. Support the development of forecasting models to improve demand planning and service scheduling; including collaboration with the Sales team to prove out a forecasting model/system.
- Improve operational efficiency and customer value: Conducting walk throughs and work on site with customers, attending customers operations identify and communicate data-driven opportunities to improve operational efficiency through data blending to build a unified view of customer, product and service performance.
- Documentation: document processes, assumptions and findings clearly and make accessible for stakeholders.
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or Engineering
- Experience working with data tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, or SQL
- Familiarity with statistical modeling, forecasting (e.g., SARIMA), or AI/ML concepts is an asset
