**Summary of Position**
CKB Construction is a privately owned company with over 40 years specializing in Municipal Water & Sewer Construction & Rehabilitation along with Sewer Outfall Construction & Rehabilitation.
The Water & Sewer Estimator is an integral member of team, responsible for all stages of developing accurate cost estimates and preparing proposals on a variety of projects in the Edmonton Region.

**Role and Responsibilities**

Technical Estimating
Prepare accurate cost estimates including quantity takeoffs, crew composition & productivities, material quantities & sourcing, and vendor & subcontract management systems.
Experience estimating greenfield and rehabilitation projects for municipal water & sewer projects.
Familiar with municipal standards with respect to material, installation methods, testing requirements, documentation submittals, and safety requirements.
Ability to accurately perform complete takeoffs utilizing software to both establish and validate tender quantities.
Prepare final bid, complete with markup base on market conditions, CKB policy, and in conjunction with the Project Manager and Senior Management group
Collaborate with Project team when preparing bids.

Contract Administration
Carry out contract administration including tendering process, proposals, contract and drawings review.
Verify contract document & plans for accuracy and prepare detailed quantity take-offs of project materials.
Attend pre-tender site meeting/visits as required.
Set up job for all projects estimated and awarded to CKB, including credit approval, bonding, insurance, WCB clearance, schedules, subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, as well as internal job setup for operations & accounting.
Identifying and quantifying contract changes and related change orders for operational review.
Other duties as assigned.

Business Knowledge
Monitor construction market to identify suitable projects and obtain approval to bid.
Rigorously follow up with submitted bids to track the market and identify market trends.

**Qualifications, Training and Education**
Engineering Degree, Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent experience.
3+ years’ experience in municipal water & sewer cost estimating projects in various sizes ranging from $100k to $10M.
Ability to accurately perform a complete takeoff from a set of drawings.
Strong relational skills with ability to build professional connections.
Ability to work with high volumes, work within tight deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
Strong computer skills in MS Office, Bluebeam, estimating software, and job costing software.
Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
Experience with organizational communication (verbal and written), work planning and organization.

**Working Conditions**
This position will be primarily office based and may involve frequent visits to the field for pre-tender meetings, inspections, and audits. This position will require occasional physically demanding work in different positions (kneeling, standing, lifting, etc.), as well as long periods of sitting/typing while performing office & computer related tasks.
