**Job Overview**
**Duties**
- Conduct ultrasound examinations as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and addressing any concerns.
- Operate ultrasound equipment effectively to capture high-quality images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
- Analyze images for quality and clarity, making adjustments as necessary during the procedure.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed, including any relevant medical history or findings.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss results and assist in the interpretation of ultrasound findings.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols within the imaging department.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques to enhance skills and improve patient care.

- Proficient in medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and understand patient needs.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate imaging and reporting of findings.

- Strong organizational skills for maintaining patient records and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance is essential for optimal performance.
**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of **an**extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active registration with Sonography Canada or equivalent. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
**Additional Required Qualifications**:

Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies. Interest in professional growth. Ability in the areas of perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability in the use of tact, courtesy, and professionalism with patients, staff, and physicians.
