Cider Maker

Reporting to the Winery Manager/Winemaker, the key responsibilities for the position will consist of:
**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Working with the cellar hand, perform daily tasks including blending, fermentations, filtrations, racking, fining, cleaning and sanitation according to in-house protocols.
- Perform standard lab analysis of sugars, alcohol, pH, TA, free and total SO2 etc.
- Operating & maintaining cellar equipment
- Creating weekly cellar schedules to ensure production goals are met
- Inventory management and procurement
- Representing the winery at events as needed

**Required Skills**:

- Relevant degrees in Science, Engineering or from technical Programs Considered
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial wine-making or fermentation experience in a lead position
- Ability to multitask on a regular basis and carry out required tasks with mínimal supervision
- Good computer literacy and familiarity with the use of spreadsheets
- Excellent command of the English language - both written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable in a team environment, customer-focused from an operational perspective
- Must have a positive behavioUr and be able to lead by example

**Working Conditions**:

- This position requires physical effort which entails lifting and moving up to and including 25 Kgs
- Able to work at heights (catwalk)
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, overtime or staggered hours in order to meet production needs.
- The workload is expected to be 70% hands-on in the cellar and 30% in laboratory and administrative tasks
