Junior Application Specialist

Ionic Mechatronics is looking for self-motivated, high-caliber and creative Junior Application Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary design and service team in Sudbury. Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Specific experience in one or more of the following is considered an asset:
- Design of automated and robotic systems
- Design of machinery in mining or other heavy industry
- Design and programming for common PLC platforms (Rockwell / Schneider / Siemens, DCS etc.)
- Design using Microstation, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or other parametric CAD platforms), etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a requirement
- Must be able to work independently on a complete design package or in a team environment
- Experience estimating automated systems, fabrications, projects
**Experience and Skills that are assets to this position**:
- Familiarity with Machine safety standards
- Electrical power distribution design experience
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Customer relations
- Experience estimating for automated systems or components
- Experience post-installation troubleshooting and customer support
- Experience with robot simulation
- Knowledge of machine cycle time studies and evaluations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Key Functions:
- Develop design concepts and write technical proposals for automation and control systems
- Determine costing for automated machines
- Client meetings and site visits
- Conduct technical studies, equipment and systems performance audits and generate reports
- Write technical documents and reports for various stages on mining and industrial projects
- Take part in concept brainstorming meetings
- Stay focused and driven to continually look for innovative ideas and technologies for both development and implementation into concepted systems.
- Develop/review quotes and proposals
- Manage proposals and customer communications as required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
