We’re looking for a DAO Manager to take flight with us. This position will be located on-site based out of our Toronto office.
**General Duties**:
Manage the activities of the Design Approval Organization (DAO 96-O-01) and make findings of compliance under DAO. Develop and coordinate airworthiness certification documentation and liaise with Transport Canada and foreign airworthiness authorities in support of design approval projects. Provide technical guidance to senior management, peers and subordinates relating to aerospace engineering and airworthiness issues.
**Essential Job Functions**:
- Manage the activities and staff of the DAO 96-O-01 (Ontario Region).
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of airworthiness delegates.
- Liaise with Transport Canada and foreign airworthiness authorities relating to airworthiness and technical issues.
- Review and approve, or recommend approval of, design data on behalf of the Minister of Transport as a Design Approval Delegate.
- Develop, review and coordinate the generation of certification documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to, and liaise with, Business Development, Production and design engineering relating to airworthiness certification and design.
- Administer and monitor the five primary business elements: Quality, Cost, Schedule, Labor Utilization and Safety. Improve the function and utility of the of the DAO using a continuous improvement approach.
- Remain current with respect to Transport Canada and Foreign airworthiness standards.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Minimum of (10) years progressive aerospace engineering experience.
- Minimum of (3) years progressive airworthiness engineering experience.
- Meets the eligibility requirements of CAR 505 and or CAR 521 legislation.
- Minimum of (4) years supervisory experience.

**Education**:
- Graduate of a Transport Canada sponsored Airworthiness Certification training course.
- Post-Secondary Aviation or Aerospace Technical Education or Degree and/or equivalent aviation industry experience.
