Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our dynamic Treasury Operations team

You will contribute to our team by
- Building relationships cross functionally to maintain the daily cash position using a specialized Treasury Management System (TMS - Reval). Reconciling and investigating significant variances across multiple internal and external stakeholders identified in the cash positioning process.
- Accurate and timely processing of treasury transactions including dividends, interest and principal payments, and derivative settlements. Ensuring timely and accurate bank deposits and appropriate approvals for transactions are processed.
- Coordinating with Financial Services on the daily cash reconciliations and journal processing of all bank accounts owned by Treasury in the TMS. Maintain TMS static data including cash transaction reasons, bank accounts, counterparties and banks.
- Supporting month end and quarter end reporting processes, seeking opportunities for continuous process & reporting improvement and finding efficiencies in Treasury Operations by leveraging the TMS.
- Adhering to established controls and prepares documentation as evidenced for SOX/CSOX compliance, ensuring financial results are accurate with no material errors.

What you will bring to the role

Education
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting required.
- Education equivalency may be considered.

Experience:

- Experience in accounting or treasury operations. Familiar with Canadian and US banking systems.
- A basic understanding of US and Canadian capital markets and banking

Technical Skills:

- Attention to detail and accurate processing of transactions. Ability to understand, document and improve complex processes. Knowledge of Treasury management systems and processes with strong Excel skills.
- Ability to engage and maintain working rapport with auditors and cross-functional teams and integrate treasury experience and work duties to provide appropriate support to business groups.

Working Conditions:

- Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very mínimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.

Clearance of Credit check is required for this position.
