Medical Office Assistant

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Telus MedAccess.
- Handle phone calls professionally, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
- Assist in managing medical office tasks, including billing and insurance verification.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and assisting during procedures when needed.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
**Skills**
- Proficiency in administrative tasks within a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with MedAccess is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information.
- Ability to operate phone systems and handle multi-line calls efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service at the front desk.
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in English is required.
