The School's mission is to provide medical and dental pre-and post-doctoral education programs. At Schulich Dentistry, we prepare qualified graduates to provide dental care as well as generate knowledge through clinical research, basic science research and other scholarly activity. We also provide oral health care to the public through our on-site clinics and our community outreach programs, specifically, Community Service Learning (CSL) program and total health. **Responsibilities**: **Research Assistant—Society to Cell Lab for Translational Oral Health Research (S2CL)** **Research Support** - Assist in the preparation of research protocols and study materials. - Support the development of survey instruments, interview guides, and data collection tools. - Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, and informed consent processes. **Data Management and Analysis** - Collect, enter, and maintain accurate research data. - Perform preliminary data cleaning, coding, and analysis using statistical or qualitative software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo, Excel). - Maintain organized data files and ensure data integrity in compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements. **Ethics and Regulatory Compliance** - Assist with the preparation, submission, and renewal of ethics and regulatory documents. - Track approvals, protocol amendments, and reporting deadlines to ensure compliance. **Project Coordination** - Support communication among research team members, collaborators, and participants. - Schedule and document research meetings, maintain project timelines, and monitor progress. - Help prepare research progress reports, presentations, and knowledge translation materials. **Administrative and Dissemination Support** - Prepare drafts of correspondence, abstracts, and manuscript sections for review. - Assist in organizing workshops, symposia, or dissemination events. - Maintain inventory of project supplies and coordinate purchases as needed. **Qualifications** **Education**: - Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related discipline. **Experience**: - Prior experience in research coordination, data collection, or analysis within an academic or healthcare setting. Familiarity with research ethics processes and data privacy standards. **Skills, Abilities & Expertise** - Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy - Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work - Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public - Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner - Familiarity with research ethics processes and data privacy standards - Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis - Familiarity with experimental design and analysis - Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and at least one data analysis or reference management tool (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo, EndNote). - Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals - Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Western Values Diversity**: Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
