Production Manager

**Reports To**: Operations Manager/Branch Manager

**Position summary**

This position will manage assigned resources and is responsible to identify and understand the needs of the market and each customer.

Through daily action and positive reinforcement, the Production Manager will provide a safe and healthy environment promoting a “can-do” company culture that thrives on the hunger for more work, continuous improvement and adds value to each product and service.

The Production Manager will provide superior customer service, through leadership, proactively drive efforts to increase market share, organize operations, optimize the utilization and allocation of company assets and cultivate as many opportunities for greater profits.
**What you’ll do**
- Perform monthly physical inventory counts
- Approving all vacation requests and daily time cards
- Provide leadership, inspiration and direction; promote a positive “can-do” attitude and effort
- Problem solving, strategic planning with the ability to implement solutions
- Negotiate and resolve internal and external conflicts
- Standardize, set parameters and measure productivity of manufacturing departments
- Problem solving skills to structure work flow, identify and eliminate interdepartmental bottle necks
- Work with the Controller, Purchasing Manager and Branch Manager to coordinate and align supply chain activities such as: procurement of materials, inventory management and cycle counts
- Set a positive example in daily actions, being accountable and adaptable while providing leadership and direction to department supervisor and employees
- Support company’s vision, set operations goals and through written correspondence and one-on-one interaction
- Every morning, check-in with managers and supervisors regarding plans for the day and results from previous day
- Follow up at the end of every day, encourage feedback and settle outstanding issues
- Quality control checks on all customer packages to be done daily
- Ensuring equipment has daily inspection sheets completed and all equipment follows ZyTech’s maintenance standards
- Ensuring all shipping and receiving documentation is completed correctly and accurately
- Taking photographs of all incoming/outgoing shipments while ensuring each shipment is checked for accuracy and all way bills signed off
- Completing a weekly tool box meeting with the production staff
- Organize preloading shipments for upcoming deliveries
- Garbage must be cleaned/emptied daily (dunnage, tarps, cardboard, etc.)
- Ensuring lumber piles are level and stock is put away the same day as arrival and in proper location
- Conduct monthly safety meetings and monthly site inspections

**What you need **
- Three (3) years of Production Management experience.
- Problem solving skills to structure work flow, identify and eliminate interdepartmental bottle necks
- Ability to comprehensively understand blue prints
- Experience in the rough framing and construction process considered an asset
- Knowledge of computer software i.e. MS Office
- Understanding of manufacturing and logistics operations
- Provide leadership, inspiration and direction; promote a positive “Can-Do” attitude and effort
- Interview, identify areas of improvement and analyze performance of staff
- Problem solving, strategic planning with the ability to implement solutions
- Scheduling, ensuring projects and tasks are delivered on time
- Communicate tasks and goals through written and verbal correspondence and weekly meetings
- Negotiate and resolve internal and external conflicts
- Standardize, set parameters and measure productivity of logistics and manufacturing departments
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
- Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required, PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided
