Reds Bike Shop is located in the small city of Lacombe, in Central Alberta, along the bike trails by the local university. We are proud to Central Alberta’s Giant, Salsa, Marin, Liv, Devinci, and Momentum authorized bicycle dealer. Our sister store is Reds Source for Sports located in downtown Lacombe. Although both stores have their own unique focus, we work as a close-knit team to ensure a very high level of customer and staff satisfaction. Our staff members all have a passion for sport and have expertise in their field of activity.
**Job Overview**
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Offer support on the retail sales floor to ensure each customer receives a excellent shopping and service experience.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on various types of bicycles, both new and used.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs performed and parts used.
- Manage the workflow of the workshop.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians or apprentices.
- Stay up-to-date with training and product knowledge.
- Attending community and cycling events as a representative of Reds Bike Shop.
**Data Entry**
- Entering product information accurately into digital databases.
- Verifying and validating product data for consistency.
- Organizing and categorizing product information efficiently.
- Updating product databases with new information promptly.
- Assisting in migrating data between systems accurately.
**Additional Roles and Responsibilities**
As a small independent business, we require our staff to be versatile and adaptable. We work as a team to ensure a high level of customer and employee satisfaction. Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, customer service, sales, cash handling, ski/board service, inventory, shop tidiness and cleanliness. This role may require you to work occasional evenings or weekends executing community events or working in the store.
**Requirements**:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude, with an attention to detail.
- A minimum of 2-years experience as a Bike Technician at a professional level.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as the ability to utilize technical resources to problem solve.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to stay on top of stock levels.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and software relevant to the technician role.
- Physical stamina is important. This job involves manual labor, test riding, and lifting items +50lbs.
$18-$25 per hour, depending on experience..
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
