Banquet Captain

**The Delta Hotels Marriott London Armouries is hiring an Experienced Banquet Captain. This position requires outstanding customer service skills along side strong leadership skills. Must be available for both Day and Evening Shifts which include weekends and holidays.**

**JOB PURPOSE**:
Supervises the activities of the banquet staff in setting up and serving guests at catered functions.

**DUTIES**:

- Follows direction from Food & Beverage Manager as to specific procedures and assignments.
- Assigns tasks to Servers and Porters to setup and provide service to guests.
- Inspects rooms for cleanliness and setup and ensures that rooms are ready on time.
- Responsible for balancing cash floats for bars and the distribution of liquor, beer, and wine.
- Spot checks banquet bars.
- Ensures that function rooms are left in a clean and safe condition.
- Liaises with host or convenor to provide support for a successful event.
- Confirms the guest count and time of meal/meeting and relays this information to relevant departments (i.e. Kitchen, Catering, Porters and Servers).
- Monitors the progress of the meal, signals servers to remove china and serve the next course.
- Checks coffee service to ensure compliance with guest requests.
- Checks contracts, draws floor plans and ensures feasibility of setups.
- Liaises with relevant departments to coordinate activities.
- Prepares guest invoices accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Records the daily labour accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Completes a daily revenue for department and ensures its accuracy.
- Variable working hours will be required._
