We are committed to enhancing equity and accessibility for all learners, and culturally and socially responsive knowledge brokering and mobilization. **Responsibilities**: Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research assistant will support the delivery of an S3: Inclusive STEM and Social Skills summer camp at the Faculty of Education. S3 offers STEM programming related to coding, robotics, and friendship skills to groups of 15-20 students between the ages of 10-13. The camp will run July 10th to 14th and July 17th to 21st with training occurring the week before. Lesson plans will include one-week of full day STEM activities using Sphero RVR+ Robots and Little Bits STEM+ Coding Kits and one-week of half-day STEM activities using Sphero RVR+ Robots and Little Bits STEM+ Coding Kits. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Undergraduate degree completed or in progress in a relevant area of focus **Experience**: - Prior experience working with children, ideally in a camp setting preferred Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Familiarity with STEM activities such as Sphero RVR+ Robots and Little Bits STEM+ Coding Kits - Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs - Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work - Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public - Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy - First Aid and CPR Certification - Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) prior to employment start date **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
