Technical Assistant, Water/wastewater

Under the direction of the Manager, or Supervisor, Water/Wastewater, the Technical Assistant, Water/Wastewater provides technical and labour duties to support the water/wastewater activities.
Job Requirements
- Understanding of water wastewater properties and legislation, infrastructure design principles, and asset management of municipal infrastructures.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal direction or as part of a team, and to respond appropriately to any situation which may rise.
- Ability to operate light equipment including pickup truck, and become familiar with operating other equipment related to water/waste water used in the department.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Class “G” driver’s license in good standing.
- Good communication skills including ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public and staff.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with the MTO traffic control regulations and devices and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
